Job Description

The casual Bartender will provide bartending services for events held by the Town of Arnprior, most frequently at the Nick Smith Centre. The Bartender position shall be Smart Serve certified, have courteous customer service skills and have knowledge of beer, wine, spirits and basic preparation skills. Bartenders must be of a legal age to service alcohol in Ontario (mandatory 19 years of age).

The primary responsibilities for this position include (but not limited to) the following:

• Provide bartending services for events held at the Nick Smith Centre or other Town facility.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area for the bar, following internal procedures and maintaining appropriate sales transactions and inventory records.
• Provide a positive customer service experience for event patrons through courteous and professional services as a representative of the Town of Arnprior.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have as a minimum the following qualifications:

• Previous customer service, server or bartending experience.
• Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits and the preparation of basic drinks.
• Completion of Smart Serve Ontario training. Must remain valid during course of employment.
• Ability to obtain a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Be of legal age to serve alcohol in the Province of Ontario.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanour at all times when dealing with clients, staff, volunteers and the general public.
• Physically capable to perform bartending duties.
• Capable of following safe work practices and procedures

Asset Qualifications:

• Ontario Food Handlers Certification
• Bartending Certification/Courses
