Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Registered Teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for educating and nurturing young children in a safe and stimulating environment.

Responsibilities:

· Create a positive and supportive learning environment for children
· Provide individualized attention to each child to support their learning and development
· Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns
· Utilize various teaching methods to engage children in learning activities
· Foster a sense of curiosity and love for learning in young children

Requirements:
• Early Childhood Education Diploma or related field
• Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
• Standard First Aid / CPR C
• Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Establishes a mentoring relationship as a mentee with an experienced Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE) Supervisor.
• Attends all training sessions offered by the licensee and Renfrew County Childcare.
• Experience managing staff scheduling and replacement staff.

Responsibilities:
• Teaching, lesson planning, and supervision of children in accordance with the philosophy, policies and procedures of the centre, the Ministry of Education and the

Early Years and Child Care Act (EYCCA), and Ontario curriculum.
• Adheres to Public Health and Childcare and EYCCA regulations and requirements for licensing.
• Arrange for sufficient staffing of the Centre to meet requirements in the EYCCA
• Manage the center’s Child Care Licensing System (CCLS) and provides updates as required.
• Report serious occurrences to the Ministry as required.
• Manage the Yearly Operations Survey with guidance
• Manage Director Approval requests.
• Responds to any requests from the Ministry of Education
• Recognize the requirements of the Ontario Child Care Management Systems (OCCMS)
• Manages the HI MAMA system and enters new families and staff as needed.
• Monitors HI MAMA for accuracy i.e. attenance, documentation etc.
• Supports the owner with staffing i.e. recruits, hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, and supports staff on an ongoing basis with priorities being employee professional growth, autonomy, authority and by using the team approach.
• Responsible for the constant supervision, safety, and well-being of the children and colleagues.
• Oversees the preparation and implementation of age-appropriate activities that encourage children's creativity and learning and promote each child's emotional, communication language and literacy, cognitive and physical development.
• Establishes and maintains regular positive communication with parents.
• Keep current in the field of Early Childhood Education and participate in Professional Development "The College of Early Childhood Educators."
• Conducts quarterly program monitoring and makes recommendations.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly, sensitive, and courteous manner with children, parents, staff, and the public.
• Record management.
• Attends and participates actively in all program/centre, parent, informal get togethers, special events and staff meetings, Renfrew County Childcare meetings as required.
• Oversees that program equipment in good repair and toy and equipment disinfecting is completed.
• To ensure maintenance of the play environments and storage areas in an organized and is in clutter free condition.
• To prepare a program items list for purchases as needed.
• Participate in regular fire drills and other emergency procedures.
• Engage in positive collaboration with the other programs and early childhood educators of the center.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by promptly reporting any existing and/or potential workplace hazards.
• Prepares for the annual Ministry Inspection by conducting the following: Water testing, Annual Alarm Testing, Dion Fire Inspection, and Annual Fire Inspection
• Prepares for the Public Health Inspections on an ongoing basis - keeping the environment in a clean, organized, and professional manner.
• Familiarize with the County of Renfrew County Reports as required.
• Performs other duties as required of Owners of Pineridge Children's Centre, Ministry of Education and Renfrew County Childcare and Early Years.
